Are You Ready for 2025? Here’s How to Start 🎯

Hey Reader,

Lately, I’ve been fully embracing the season with Christmas and holiday movies everywhere. Have you started watching them yet? 🎄✨

It’s incredible how these movies can bring cheer and lighten the heaviness many have been feeling. But, as I glance at my calendar, one thing becomes crystal clear: 2025 is just around the corner!

Can you believe we have fewer than 60 days left in the year?

While I’d love to settle in for another holiday movie marathon, it’s time to shift gears and start goal-setting for the new year. Having a clear vision and intentional goals will position us for success.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

Setting your 2025 goals gives you clarity and direction as you move closer to where you want to be in your career, life, and beyond.

🎯 Ready to Plan for 2025? Let’s Do It Together!

Here are a few tips I’ve found helpful, inspired by The 12-Week Year and Atomic Habits:

1. Start with Your Vision

Take a moment to dream:

- 🌟 What do you want your career to look like in the next 3-5 years?

- 🌟 How do you want to feel in your day-to-day life?

- 🌟 What do you want to accomplish or experience by 2025?

2. Set Goals Aligned with Your Vision

I’ve been intentionally goal-setting for years, and while I’ve seen many of my goals come to fruition, I’ve also learned that less is more. This year, I’m focusing on just three goals in each area:

- ✨ Personal Goals

- ✨ Professional Goals

- ✨ Financial Goals

What goals will help you align with your 3-5 year vision?

3. Create a Plan to Support Your Goals :

In Atomic Habits, James Clear reminds us:

"You don’t rise to the level of your goals; you fall to the level of your systems."

A good plan creates a system that ensures your goals don’t just remain ideas. Instead, they become actionable steps you can take consistently to achieve what you envision.

Hey Reader, Do you ever notice how this time of year seems to slow down and speed up at the same time? It’s weird, right? Because of this weird thing with the calendar, I want to update you on what’s happening here at Professional Ascension. Hence, you know exactly what’s coming and when (unlike Aunt Marge's unpredictable gifts). (I’ll try to keep the update brief, too.) I will travel much more this season than others, but you will still see me in your inbox weekly. I have paused producing...

Hey Reader, When I took the leap from bedside nursing, I was laser-focused on securing a specific job in quality improvement, convinced it was the golden ticket to success. Thinking that if I could just get that role, everything would fall into place. However, a surprising turn of events challenged this belief. Landing what I thought was my “dream job” led to an unexpected letdown, with a toxic environment and unrealistic work expectations. Through my experience, I discovered that the...
